About Us
Les Maisons des jeunes du Pontiac is a non-profit organization that operates four youth centers in Mansfield, Shawville, Campbell’s Bay, and Rapides-des-Joachims. These centers offer activities and support for children and teenagers, including workshops, information sessions, group outings, sports, and various cultural and community activities.
Our Mission
Les Maisons des jeunes have a mission to support the development of young people aged 6 to 17 so that they become critical thinkers, active participants, and responsible citizens. Through our dynamic youth centers, we provide a safe, structured, and positive environment where youth from the Pontiac can take part in a variety of activities and develop essential life skills. Our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities needed to make a meaningful contribution to their communities.
Our Services & Programs
Adult facilitators are always present when the youth houses are open to children and teenagers. The Pontiac Youth Houses offer these safe and structured meeting places free of charge and, with the help of youth councils, also organize a wide range of free activities — including training workshops, information sessions, group facilitation, group outings, and individual, sports, cultural, and community activities.
- Community animation: Shawville, Campbell’s Bay, Mansfield, and Rapides-des-Joachims.
- Day camp and March break programs to help balance work and family life.
- Coordination of the summer youth COOP program.
- Seasonal programming: Centrale and Fort-Coulonge/Mansfield.
- Coordination and management of intermunicipal sports programs: softball, soccer, and swimming.

- Prevention and awareness programs on youth substance use.
- School-based activities promoting perseverance in education.
Circonflexe : Prêt-pour-bouger
Les Maisons des Jeunes du Pontiac
are proud to take part in the Circonflexe initiative, a provincial program aimed at making outdoor activities more accessible for everyone. Through this partnership, we help provide young people and families in the region with free access to sports and recreational equipment.
